Privacy Policy — GovtGuide BD

GovtGuide BD ("the app", "we", "our") is an independent, unofficial informational guide to Bangladesh government services. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. GovtGuide BD is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Government of Bangladesh.

1. Information we collect

If you never sign in: the app stores your favorites, tracked applications, and language/theme preference only on your own device. This data never leaves your phone and we never see it.

If you choose to sign in with Google (optional): we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google, used only to identify your account for syncing your data. We use this to store, in a private database tied to your account:

• Your favorited services
• Your tracked government applications (service, date applied, status)
• Your language and theme preference

This lets the same data appear if you sign in on another device. You can sign out at any time, which stops syncing — your local device data remains on that device. You may request full deletion of your account's synced data at any time by contacting us (see Section 5).

Analytics and crash reporting: the app uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google services) to understand which features are used and to catch crashes/bugs. This includes general usage patterns (which screens are opened, how often), device type, and, if the app crashes, technical crash/error logs. This data is not linked to your name or email unless you're also signed in, and is used only to improve the app.

Notifications: reminders (e.g. application follow-up nudges) are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device. No reminder data is sent to us or anyone else.

2. Advertising

GovtGuide BD may show optional, opt-in rewarded video ads (via Google AdMob) to unlock certain convenience features beyond the free limit. These ads are only shown when you actively choose to watch one — the app does not show ads automatically or interrupt your use of core information/content. Google's AdMob may use an advertising identifier to serve and measure these ads; see Google's own privacy policy for details on how Google handles this data: policies.google.com/privacy.

3. Third-party services this app uses

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Analytics, Crashlytics) — Firebase Privacy Policy
• Google Sign-In — only if you choose to sign in
• Google Maps — tapping "Nearest Office," "Nearby Police," or "Nearby Fire" links opens Google Maps in your browser/app; this is an external link, and Google's own privacy policy governs that experience, not ours
• Google AdMob — only for the optional rewarded-ad unlock feature described above

4. Data security

Synced data (for signed-in users) is stored using Google Firebase's standard security infrastructure. We do not sell your data to anyone, and we do not use your data for any purpose beyond making the app function and improving it.

5. Your choices and rights

• You can use the entire app without ever creating an account.
• You can sign out at any time from Settings → Profile.
• You can request deletion of your synced account data by contacting us at the email below.
• You can uninstall the app at any time, which removes all locally stored data from your device.

6. Children's privacy

GovtGuide BD is a general-audience informational app not specifically directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
